Swimming Basics for Beginners

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the swimming basics to be followed for mid-aged beginners?

The most important parts you need to learn first are:

1 - learn to submerge you face in the water whilst holding your breath and whilst breathing out (blowing bubbles).

2- learn to lift your feet off of the pool floor whilst holding the poolside and float on your front.

3 - learn to stand up in the water from a floating position on your front.

Once you are able to do all of the above with confidence and without hesitation, then learning basic swimming technique will come easily.

All of the above tips are available in greater detail plus loads more in our book 'The Complete Guide to Simple Swimming - from Terrified to Terrific. ' Click here for more information.
