Stand Up Whilst Swimming

I would like to know how to stand up whilst swimming. How do I learn to stand in prone position?

Learning how to stand from a prone position is essential to learning how to swim. It requires a simultaneous movement of the arms and hands down through the water whilst the knees are drawn forward. The body is then in an almost sitting position just before the feet are placed on the pool floor. Full details and a diagram of how this is performed are found by clicking here

The most common mistakes made when attempting to stand from a prone position are arching the back and failing to bend the knees forward. These both result in the feeling of falling forward as the legs and body remain near the water surface.

The full details of how to stand from a prone and supine position, along with all aspects of learning to swim are available in our best-selling book 'The Complete Guide to Simple Swimming', which is currently available to download at a discount. You can download it, print out the parts you need and take them to your pool to try out. Click the link below for more information.
